I don’t think the tone that the jsap editor chooses helps things; I don’t dispute the recommendations but if they’re not working well, maybe there’s a better way of communicating with and engaging one’s colleagues?

[mention:2b06a3c44b8447f6b40c98bf78ac19bc:e9ed411860ed4f2ba0265705b8793d05] - not sure that is a fair comment, because they were my words (and the editor of JSAP), not the specialists who devised the recommendations. I am sure they will be as aware as you that if the guidelines are not being adhered to, the problem is probably more about a failure to communicate the message effectively than it is about how it was received! And it is quite a challenge for a small veterinary group to get their message out there. Stories like these hopefully help, though.

Maybe those in ivory towers should reflect on their use words such as 'comply' and 'adhere', and question how they have failed to more effectively communicate their message to us lowly general practitioners?
