Big difference between this case and Chikosi. This vet mounted a defence and managed to avoid being struck off. Maybe if Chikosi had done the same then he wouldn't have been struck off.

I'm a locum, I've worked at some pretty under-equipped practices, but they've all had cold water, towels and a thermometer to try and avoid possible reactive hypothermia.....

I thought it was odd for a heat stroke at that time, but there was a heatwave in July 2013. Bit of a nightmare case to have on your first morning as a locum, especially if the facilities aren't great, but you don't just send a dog home in that condition.

All I can think of is the dog was affected by heatstroke the day before and the owner had delayed seeking advice, so was then lashing out to shift blame. I wonder if the owner was investigated for any sort of cruety offence.

One wonders if the DC would be quite so lenient if the offenders name was Chikosi,or had a -ski at the end of the surname.
