So, you are a vet in UK and you are thinking “there has to be a better way!”.

Well, maybe this is it. Heathrow vets are looking for more vets who want to help us get pets exported abroad safely, correctly and perfectly.

The good bits – you work 9-5, 4 days a week, no weekends, no bank holidays, not much owner interaction, 5 weeks off a year. Most vet jobs have you working 1 weekend in 3, this job you have a 3 day weekend around 1 weekend in 3. £40-£44K depending on experience and if you want to be lead vet or not.

The bad bits (and all jobs have their bad bits): lots of filling of health certificates. This is only bad at first, as we will help you get super confident with the forms.

We are based nr Windsor in Berkshire and would be keen to get great people full time ideally, but this works nicely for part time vets as well. Experience with export docs would be great and relevant export qualifications would be funded as needs be.

We are a pet relocation company specialising in exporting pets by air for people moving abroad. For more information about our company a simple search of PetAir UK online will bring up our website.

This is a very demanding but rewarding role. It would ideally suit a vet nurse (with strong logistical skills and client focus) looking to change role or someone with a proven logistical background with excellent soft skills and customer focus.

Hours: Basic - 0900-1700 Monday to Friday, not including bank holidays. Please be aware; some degree of flexibility is required as pet shipping is definitely not a 9-5 job.

Remuneration: Circa £27,000 (£19 Basic with approximately £8,000 - paid monthly - based on the number of export clients flown that month) depending on experience. You'll also receive 4 week’s holiday (20 days) per year plus bank holidays. On the job training will be given to the right candidate due to the very unique nature of the role.

Job Spec:

• Reports to the Office Manager

• To work with individual clients based on details provided to you by the sales team

• Working as an individual (but within a team of other export consultants) You will be solely responsible for your clients’ pet export from all aspects from arranging the UK collection of their pets, checking the veterinary requirements, dealing with and ordering export paperwork, liaising with airlines to book the flight, organising vet visits and much more

• Communications with the client mainly by email / phone

• To make sure that additional costs the clients incur (due to requests of additional services) is well documented and noted on our internal system

• The main aim is to successfully complete each shipment carefully, in a timely manner and accurately, so that the client feels that have received a ‘top-class’ service. Client satisfaction in a high priority

• General Administration – there is a lot of paperwork involved in flying pets

• Covering of the out of hours telephone (not immediately but when agreed you are ready to do so) – this is not busy but as we have pets landing and taking off at all hours of the day this is important.

About you

• You must be extremely customer focused and be able to stay calm in stressful situations

• You are the sort of person that when faced with a challenge or problem, whilst seeking advice from colleagues will ‘own’ any problem and see something through to completion

• You are resilient to problems caused by things outside of your control and can adapt to new situations and solve issues when they arise

• Your eye for detail is extremely important – any mistake can be costly

• You consider yourself to operate professionally with clients of all backgrounds but can keep in mind that you are dealing with people pets and therefore excellent soft skills are essential

• Good computer skills – email/internet/excel

• Excellent organisational skills

• You are able to work occasional extra hours when busy or a particular shipment requires
